Claude Code 2.1.318 adds fork effort control and sign-in expiry dates
The point
Anthropic released Claude Code v2.1.318. A mod fork can now set its own effort, so a quick side job can run at low effort no matter what the main session uses.
Why it matters
For builders, side jobs can run cheaper without changing the main session.
Key details
- Auth status now shows when a stored claude.ai sign-in ends, and claude -p warns on stderr starting 10 days before that date
- Fixed --continue losing the earlier conversation after a malformed tool call retries ran out, a regression in 2.1.314
