Claude Code 2.1.314 blocks writes outside working directories

Anthropic released Claude Code v2.1.314. A new permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories setting makes Write, Edit and NotebookEdit refuse paths outside the working directories in every permission mode.
Why it matters
Builders get a hard stop on writes that stray outside their working folders.
